The U.S. economy depends on innovative and new ideas from talented individuals. However, its not always the case that these individuals are born in the U.S.
Right now, the U.S. Economy is struggling to get out of a recession and presidential candidates have expressed fear that increasing immigration avenues means less jobs for U.S. Citizens. However, the fact that the current immigration laws make it very difficult for foreigners to come to the U.S. and start the companies that would provide jobs not only for the immigrant but for U.S. Citizens, hurts the U.S. economy.
