Western Washington residents, I would like to invite you all to attend the Annual Gala for ReWA on September 14th at 5PM at Marion Oliver McCaw Hall at Seattle Center. There will be international food and entertainment. Ticket proceeds go to ReWA’s programs for Refugees.
ReWA (formerly Refugee Women’s Alliance and Southeast Asian Women’s Alliance) was founded in 1985 and is a multi-ethnic, community-based organization that provides comprehensive culturally and linguistically appropriate services to refugee and immigrant communities throughout King and Snohomish Counties. Today, ReWA operates from 10 sites in King and Snohomish Counties, and is comprised of 140 staff members with the capability of speaking 37 different languages and dialects. Many of our staff are refugees or immigrants.
In addition to my private practice, I am the staff immigration attorney at ReWA. As part of a state-wide citizenship initiative, ReWA helps eligible refugees apply for U.S. Citizenship. Our services are free and the majority of our clients are successful in applying for fee waivers so the entire naturalization process is free. In addition, ReWA offers free Citizenship and English classes to help our clients prepare for their naturalization exam. If you are a low income refugee in Seattle or the surrounding areas you may be eligible for ReWA’s services. In addition to the Citizenship program, ReWA also has parenting classes, youth programs, English as a second language, domestic violence services all for free.
The ticket price is $65 and more information can be found on the facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/#!/events/435283496484051/ or by contacting Ashley at (206) 721-8450 or ashley@rewa.org.
